چکیده
Crop residues' inappropriate management is the main constraint causing decline in soil fertility and crop yields Burkina Faso. This study was conducted at Farako-Bâ Research Station from 2014 to 2019 assess effects of residue improve sustainability cotton-cereal based production systems. The experimental design complete randomized blocks Fischer with four replications. Three different practices were investigated: (i) exportation conventional tillage (T1); ii) Composted residues (T2); (iii) used for mulching no-tillage (T3). Soil chemical characteristics assessed as parameters this study. improved by 17 34% on maize, 18 38% cotton 6 14% sorghum, respectively, recycled into compost (T2) (T3) compared exported (T1). technics significantly increased after first three years experimentation. properties not statistically influenced, except SOM, nitrogen, available K content. highest decrease carbon content induced (T1) should be recommended farmers. Long-Term Effects of Crops Residues Management on the Soil Chemical Properties and Yields in Cotton - Maize - Sorghum Rotation System in Burkina Faso
In cotton and cereals production systems, the most important cause of soil fertility degradation is the inappropriate crop residues management. In a long-term experiment carried out from 1982 to 2012, the effects of crop residues management (CRM) during 30 years on soil chemical properties and crops yields were evaluated in a cotton-cereals rotation. The experimental design was nonrandomized bl...

This paper investigated the response of major food crop yields namely beans, cassava, Irish potatoes, maize and sweet potatoes to ongoing changes in climate inRwanda. The projected daily precipitation and temperature data for the period2000-2050 used in this study were generated by stochastic weather generator(LARS-WG) from daily raw data for the period 1961 -2000. These data werecollected from ...
متن کاملEffects of film mulch and soil pesticides on nematodes, weeds, and yields of vegetable crops.
Field plots in Tifton loamy sand were treated with various soil pesticides in 1973 and 1974 and either left exposed or covered with biodegradable flint mulch. Test crops were cantaloup, slicing and pickling cucumber, squash, and sweet corn. Overhead sprinkler irrigation was used in 1973, and trickle irrigation under the film mulch was used on sweet corn in 1974. Soil was assayed for nematodes, ...
